TRITON X-114 is used in biochemical applications to solubilize and separate proteins due to its low cloud point (23 °C).

Description
TRITON X-114 is used in biochemical applications to solubilize and separate proteins due to its low cloud point (23 °C). At temperatures above the cloud point, detergent solutions separate into aqueous and detergent-enriched phases. This makes Triton X-114 particularly useful in separating lipophilic proteins from hydrophilic proteins.
