Total RNA Mini

Description:
Total RNA Mini is a kit for total RNA purification from bacterial and yeast cultures, cell cultures, plant and animal tissues and fresh blood using minicolumns. The sample is lysed with Fenozol reagent, which according to the manual deactivates endogenous RNases, followed by chloroform extraction, binding of RNA to the minicolumn after the addition of isopropanol, washing with A1 wash solution and elution with ultrapure water. The manual provides a separate sample preparation procedure for each material type.

• Sample size: up to 3 ml of bacterial culture, up to 1 ml of yeast culture, up to 2 ml of blood, up to 1 × 10⁶ cells of cell culture, up to 50 mg of plant or animal tissue
• Elution volume from 100 µl
• Elution solution: ultrapure water
• Fenozol lysis reagent deactivates endogenous RNases
• Chloroform is required for extraction (not included)

Applications:

• Total RNA isolation from bacterial cultures: 1–3 ml of overnight culture
• Total RNA isolation from yeast cultures: up to 1 ml of culture
• Total RNA isolation from cell cultures: up to 1 × 10⁶ cells
• Total RNA isolation from plant or animal tissue: 20–50 mg of tissue homogenized in liquid nitrogen
• Total RNA isolation from fresh (not frozen) blood: 1–2 ml of blood, erythrocytes are lysed with RBCL solution before isolation (not included)
