Orchid Maintenance Media (OMM) is a precisely formulated medium designed for the long-term support of growth and vitality of various orchid species during repotting and maintenance cultivation phases. Its special composition, including activated charcoal, ensures a clean environment for roots and shoots, contributing to the overall health of the plants.

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Add 27.36 g Orchid Maintenance Media, 30 g sugar, and PPM™ (1–2 ml/l) to 800 ml distilled water
  2. Fill up to 1 liter with water
  3. Adjust pH to 5.4–5.8
  4. Add gelling agent (agar 6–8 g/l or gellan gum 3–4 g/l)
  5. Sterilize in an autoclave for 20 minutes at 121°C and 15 psi
  6. Allow medium to cool and pour into culture vessels – the medium is ready for immediate use
 

Applications:

  • Suitable for maintenance and replate cultivation of epiphytic orchids, originally developed for Phalaenopsis
  • Popular among growers for its versatility and reliability in supporting healthy plant development
