Microbiome lysis kit

Description:
Microbiome lysis kit is an additional set of reagents for isolation of microbial DNA from fecal and environmental samples (soil, activated sediment, compost). It is designed for use with MagnifiQ Genomic series kits and the Genomic Mini Universal kit. Cell lysis is the first and crucial step in successful DNA isolation. Its aim is to quickly and thoroughly break down the cells in a sample so that nucleic acids are released into the lysate. According to the manufacturer, the combination of a special set of solutions and mechanical lysis with zirconia/silica beads ensures effective lysis of the microbial cells present in the sample. The manufacturer also states complete lysis of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and yeast, efficient removal of inhibitors, and high quality DNA for subsequent metagenomic analyses.
