Description:
10X Thermal Chelator is a patented reagent designed to create a thermally reversible Hot-Start/Cold-Stop PCR system without chemical or antibody modification of DNA polymerases. Its mechanism is based on reversible chelation of magnesium ions (Mg²⁺), an essential cofactor for DNA polymerases. At low temperatures, Mg²⁺ ions are bound, keeping the polymerase inactive. Upon heating, magnesium ions are released, allowing PCR amplification to proceed. Cooling the reaction causes Mg²⁺ to be chelated again, stopping the reaction. No enzyme activation step is required.
