Description:
MagnifiQ Pathogen reagents and consumables kit is a set of reagents and all necessary consumables for filling plates for the automated, magnetic isolation of DNA and RNA of pathogenic microorganisms, specifically viruses and Gram-negative bacteria. The user fills the plates with reagents following the diagram in the manual, in either a 16-samples-per-plate or a 96-samples-per-plate format. The MagnifiQ product series is based on automated nucleic acid isolation using magnetic beads. According to the manufacturer, this approach significantly shortens working time and reduces the risk of error compared to manual methods. The isolated material is, according to the manufacturer, suitable for downstream analysis by qPCR and RT-PCR methods as well as for sequencing. The manufacturer also states automated, fast isolation and universal extraction of both DNA and RNA.

Features:

  • Set of reagents and consumables for filling plates for automated magnetic DNA and RNA isolation
  • 16 samples per plate and 96 samples per plate formats (depending on the kit variant)
  • Universal extraction of both DNA and RNA
  • Protocol time approx. 30 min
  • Elution volume 50–100 µl
  • Elution solution: Tris buffer (10 mM, pH 8.5)
  • Binding capacity 30 µg DNA/RNA
  • Suitable samples: blood, serum, plasma, body fluids, animal tissue and swabs
  • Tested with ThermoFisher Scientific KingFisher Flex and Allsheng Auto-Pure Mini, Auto-Pure 32A and Auto-Pure 96 devices. According to the manufacturer, this does not preclude use with other devices
  • 80% ethanol, an automated pipette and pipette tips are required for plate preparation (not included)
  • For in vitro diagnostic use (IVD)

Applications:

  • Isolation of DNA and RNA of viruses and Gram-negative bacteria from blood: fresh or frozen, serum, plasma and body fluids, up to 200 µl
  • Isolation of DNA and RNA from animal tissue: up to 20 mg of tissue homogenized in PBS or Tris buffer
  • Isolation of DNA and RNA from swabs: swabs in transport medium require no additional preparation, while for dry swabs the part of the swab with the sample is first extracted in sterile water, Tris buffer or PBS
  • Preparation of nucleic acids for qPCR, RT-qPCR and sequencing

Kit contents:

  • BBG binding buffer
  • A1WI wash solution
  • MQBB magnetic beads
  • Tris buffer
  • LTE 2X buffer
  • Proteinase K (storage at 2–8 °C)
  • 2.2 ml plates
  • 0.5 ml plates (96-sample variant)
  • CP comb plate (96-sample variant)
  • Tip comb 8 (16-sample variants) or tip comb 96 (96-sample variant)
  • Protective film
