Yeast lysis kit

Description:
Yeast lysis kit is an additional set of reagents for genomic DNA isolation from yeast. It is designed for use with MagnifiQ Genomic series kits and the Genomic Mini Universal kit. Cell lysis is the first and crucial step in successful DNA isolation. Its aim is to quickly and thoroughly break down the cells in a sample so that nucleic acids are released into the lysate. The kit contains lyticase, an enzymatic mixture originating from Arthrobacter luteus that hydrolyses yeast cell wall glucan. According to the manufacturer, it provides complete lysis of thick yeast cell walls, enabling an efficient DNA isolation process, and minimized DNA fragmentation during lysis provides high quality DNA for metagenomic analyses.
