MagnifiQ™ 96 Pathogen instant kit

Description:
MagnifiQ 96 Pathogen instant kit is designed for automated magnetic isolation of DNA and RNA of pathogens, specifically viruses and Gram-negative bacteria, in a 96-samples-per-plate format. It contains ready-to-use, reagent-filled plates and all necessary consumables. The kit allows isolation of 96 samples in a single extraction run. The MagnifiQ product series is based on automated nucleic acid isolation using magnetic beads. According to the manufacturer, this approach significantly shortens working time and reduces the risk of error compared to manual methods. The isolated material is, according to the manufacturer, suitable for downstream analysis by qPCR and RT-PCR methods as well as for sequencing. The manufacturer also states that only a few minutes of manual work are needed for adding the samples, with the rest of the procedure carried out by the automatic extraction device, that no initial preparation of buffers is required, and that the kit enables universal extraction of both DNA and RNA. The extracted material is available after approximately 30 minutes.

Applications:

• Isolation of DNA and RNA of viruses and Gram-negative bacteria from blood: fresh or frozen, serum, plasma and body fluids, up to 200 µl
• Isolation of DNA and RNA from animal tissue: up to 20 mg of tissue homogenized in PBS or Tris buffer
• Isolation of DNA and RNA from swabs: swabs in transport medium require no additional preparation, while for dry swabs the part of the swab with the sample is first extracted in sterile water, Tris buffer or PBS
• Preparation of nucleic acids for qPCR, RT-qPCR and sequencing
