Cell division stimulation
Shoot growth
Delay of senescence

Features:

  • Easy to use
  • Helps stimulate cell division and supports proper plant growth
  • Used as a supplement in tissue culture media, for example MS medium
  • Promotes callus formation and shoot initiation at later callus stages

Preparation guide:

Procedure for preparing tissue culture medium with kinetin:

  • Prepare liquid tissue medium using MS, DKW, or another medium according to plant needs
  • Add sugar according to medium volume (typically 30 g per liter), 1 ml/liter PPM, and 3–4 g gellan gum or 6–8 g agar per liter
  • Then add the required amount of kinetin
  • Sterilize the medium in an autoclave at 121 °C for 20 minutes at 15 psi

Usage:

  • Induction and proliferation of shoots
  • Assisting in breaking bud dormancy in certain plants
  • Supporting the health and viability of plant tissues in long-term cultures by stimulating cell division and delaying senescence
