Thidiazuron (TDZ) Solution 1mg/1ml

Easy application
Shoot stimulation
Plant micropropagation

Description:

Thidiazuron (TDZ) is a plant growth regulator and a synthetic diphenylurea cytokinin, widely used in plant tissue culture to promote shoot regeneration, organogenesis, and somatic embryogenesis.

Features:

  • Easy to use
  • Effective stimulation of shoot multiplication from explants (micropropagation)
  • Used as an additive in tissue culture media, e.g., MS medium
  • Helps overcome apical dominance
  • Essential for micropropagation of certain plant species

Preparation guide:

  • Prepare liquid plant culture medium using MS or DKW medium depending on the plant type.
  • Add sugar (typically 30 g per 1 liter of medium), 1 ml/l PPM, and 3–4 g/l gellan gum or 6–8 g/l agar.
  • Add the required amount of plant hormone.
  • Autoclave the medium for 20 minutes at 15 psi and 121 °C.

Usage:

  • For standalone use or in combination with other hormones for efficient in vitro plant multiplication.
  • Seed germination stimulation in culture media.
  • Suitable for use in agriculture as well as home gardening.
  • Commonly used together with auxins (e.g., IAA) to achieve a balance between shoot and root development in the medium.
