Description:
The magnetic beads for PCR purification from the American company BioDynami combine BioDynami’s proprietary chemistry with the unique properties of SPRI (Solid Phase Reversible Immobilization) beads, enabling reversible DNA binding.
They are optimized for the selective binding of PCR fragments of 80 bp or longer, effectively removing primers shorter than 30 nt, as illustrated by the gel electrophoresis results below. The gel electrophoresis image presents two examples: an 80 bp PCR fragment (left) and a 200 bp fragment (right). In each case, the input sample, containing both PCR products and impurities, is compared with the purified sample. After purification, only the target PCR fragments remain, while shorter primers (30 nt) and other impurities are effectively removed. This result confirms the product's high selectivity for DNA fragments longer than 80 bp. The purified PCR fragments are suitable for further applications such as PCR cloning, PCR cleanup, or fragment concentration.

Procedure:
The PCR fragments purification process using magnetic beads is illustrated in the diagram and involves adding beads to the sample where fragmets bind to their surface. A magnet is then used to separate the beads with fragments from the impurities. The beads are washed to remove remaining impurities, and finally, pure fragments is eluted into a new solution for further use.

Properties:
Efficiency:
As evident from the graph, the magnetic beads demonstrate high efficiency (around 90-100%) for all tested fragment sizes. The results indicate that the purification process reliably works for PCR fragments ranging from 80 bp up to 10 kb.
