Read moreDescription:
The GT Detector Paleo kit is designed for the amplification of highly polymorphic markers from low-quality and degraded DNA. This kit includes 11 STR markers and the Amelogenin gene as a sex determination marker. The selected markers are part of the STR markers from GT Detector and GT Detector Globe, optimized for working with special and challenging DNA samples.
The GT Paleo multiplex system is optimized for amplifying 12 markers in the 100-300 bp size range in a single reaction. These loci are distinguished using five dyes with fragment analysis technology. The kit is compatible with ABI 3500/3500xL, ABI 3130/3130xl, and SeqStudio platforms for detection and analysis.
The GT Paleo Kit is intended for molecular biology applications in forensic science, personal identification, and kinship analysis. It has been validated for low-quality DNA, degraded DNA (both artificially and from real samples), and ancient bone DNA.
Features:
Markers:
The image below illustrates the GT Detector Paleo markers, categorized by dye color (blue, green, yellow, red) and their size range. The kit includes 11 STR markers and the AMXY marker for sex determination, optimized for analyzing degraded DNA.
At the bottom of the image, the GT500 size standard is displayed, ensuring precise fragment analysis via capillary electrophoresis. This system is ideal for forensic applications and working with old or challenging DNA samples.
Chromosomal Locations:
The table below shows the GT Detector Paleo Kit markers, displaying names, dye used, size range, and chromosome locations.
The image below illustrates the chromosomal locations of the GT Detector Paleo markers, including the AMXY marker on the X and Y chromosomes. The color-coding corresponds to their resolution in fragment analysis.
GT Detector Global Allelic Ladder:
The graph displays electropherograms obtained from the GT Detector Paleo kit markers using capillary electrophoresis. Each colored graph corresponds to a specific dye (blue, green, yellow, red) and shows amplified DNA fragments within different size ranges.
The clearly distinguishable peaks represent individual STR markers, allowing for accurate identification and analysis of low-quality DNA samples.
Compatibility and Usage:
The kit is compatible with Applied Biosystems™ 3500/3500xL and SeqStudio platforms for detection and analysis. The performance of GT Detector Paleo has been validated on old, degraded, and bone samples.
The kit can be used for extracted DNA from various sources, including hair root DNA, bone DNA, or direct PCR (without extraction), such as GT BLB (Blood Lysis Buffer) and filter papers (GT DBC or GT DBC Blue).
Kit Contents:
The kit contains all necessary reagents and buffers for multiplex PCR (Multiplex Primer Mix, PCR Buffer, GT HSTaq DNA Pol in Box A). It also includes GT Detector Paleo Allelic Ladder, GT500 Size Standard, and GTM5 Matrix Standard for genetic analyzer calibration (Box B).
Package Sizes:
50 reactions (Cat. No. GT-12501-50)
100 reactions (Cat. No. GT-12501-100)
1,000 reactions (Cat. No. GT-12501-1K)
