ADS™ phi29 DNA Polymerase

Description:

ADS™ phi29 DNA Polymerase is a replicative polymerase derived from the Bacillus subtilis phi29 bacteriophage. This enzyme is characterized by high processivity and strong strand displacement activity. It is widely used in modern molecular biology for a variety of applications, such as amplification of plasmid templates for Sanger sequencing, sequencing of viral genomes via NGS, genotyping, and whole genome amplification—including amplification of viral genomes or human genomic DNA for NGS.

ADS™ phi29 DNA Polymerase and the ADS™ phi29 RCA DNA Amplification Kit allow DNA amplification at 30 °C for 4 to 18 hours. The template can be plasmid DNA, a single colony lysate, or a few microliters of bacterial culture. The resulting amplified product can be used directly as a template for Sanger sequencing without the need for further purification.

Using this polymerase for screening correct mutants from a single colony eliminates the need for culturing, as the DNA template is amplified within hours and ready for Sanger sequencing. This enables faster identification of mutants without plasmid isolation.
