Description:
Originally developed for the micropropagation of walnut (Juglans spp.) from nodal explants, DKW Medium is now widely used for the in vitro cultivation of woody species, herbs, and recalcitrant plants. Its distinct formulation features lower nitrogen content and higher sulfate levels, supporting plant vitality and development under tissue culture conditions.

Recommended use:

Preparation Instructions:
- Dissolve 5.36 g of DKW powder in 800 ml of distilled water
- Add 30 g sucrose and PPM™ (1–2 ml/l)
- Adjust volume to 1 liter with distilled water
- Adjust pH to 5.4–5.8

Add a gelling agent:
Agar (6–8 g/l) or - Gellan gum (3–4 g/l)
- Sterilize in an autoclave for 20 minutes at 121 °C, 15 psi
- Medium is ready for use

- In vitro propagation of woody plants, herbs, and difficult-to-root species
- Shoot multiplication and callus regeneration
- Enhancing success rates for specialized plant tissue culture protocols
